Monofocal Intraocular Lenses – AcrivaUD
Monofocal lenses are the first developed IOLs, and they were designed only for far distance focusing. Even though there is now an array of different types of IOLs on the market, monofocal IOLs are still the most commonly implanted IOLs in cataract surgeries. The main goal of using this type of lenses is to treat blurred vision which is caused by cataract. Thus Acriva UD (monofocal IOL) provides you with the best corrected distance vision but does not allow you to see at various focal distances, and does not address any astigmatism issues.
This means that after surgery, you will still need to use reading glasses for near vision. In addition, if you suffer from astigmatism you will likely need glasses to achieve best far vision correction.
